Watch VR videos without a headset
You don't need a VR headset to watch VR videos. This free player runs in your browser and turns 180° and 360° VR videos into a flat view you can explore — drag to look around, zoom, and switch eyes. No install, no account, and your files never leave your device.
How to use it
- Drop a VR video into the player above, or click to browse. MP4, WebM, and OGG files work.
- Set the projection (180° or 360°) and the stereo layout (side-by-side or top-bottom) in the panel.
- Drag the picture to look around. Adjust field of view, zoom, and playback speed as needed.
Keyboard shortcuts follow YouTube conventions: Space or K to play/pause, J and L to seek, F for fullscreen, M to mute, R to reset the view.
Supported VR video formats
| Projection | 180° (VR180) and 360° equirectangular |
|---|---|
| Stereo layout | Side-by-side (SBS) and top-bottom (TB / over-under) |
| File types | MP4, WebM, OGG |
| 3D controls | Left/right eye selection, IPD offset |
This covers the typical output of Meta Quest recordings and consumer VR cameras such as Insta360 or Vuze. Fisheye source files need to be converted to equirectangular before playback.
Private by design
Videos play straight from your device. The player opens your file locally in the browser — nothing is uploaded, there is no server-side processing, and no account is required.
Frequently asked questions
Can I watch a VR video without a VR headset?
Yes. This player flattens 180° and 360° VR videos into a normal view you control with your mouse or trackpad. You lose the depth effect, but you can watch the full footage on any screen.
What are SBS and TB video formats?
They are stereo layouts. SBS (side-by-side) stores the left-eye and right-eye images next to each other; TB (top-bottom, also called over-under) stacks them vertically. The player shows one eye at a time, so the picture looks normal on a flat screen.
Do my videos get uploaded?
No. Files open locally in your browser and playback happens entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, and no account is needed.
Which file formats are supported?
MP4, WebM, and OGG — anything your browser can play as HTML5 video. Fisheye VR footage needs to be converted to equirectangular first.
Can I play VR180 videos from a Meta Quest or a VR camera?
Yes. Choose 180° projection with the side-by-side layout — that is the standard VR180 format used by Quest recordings and most consumer VR cameras such as the Insta360 EVO.
